Assassin’s creed franchise had shifted more into an open world RPG in the last few installments and Mirage is here to take you back to the basics. Ubisoft always had a bet going on with the introduction of Assassin’s creed as a sequel to the Prince of Persia. The bet played safe and the game was a huge hit everywhere! The game had millions of followers in a short span with gamers returning to each new installment for more thrill. The last installment Valhalla had the history of the Vikings and Ubisoft made a heft $1 billion dollars. This year Ubisft takes you to Baghdad with Assassin’s creed Mirage.
What is Assassin Creed’s Mirage 2023?
Assassin’s Creed Mirage joins as the thirteenth game in the Assassin’s Creed series. The game leads you back to Baghdad in the 900s, exploring Basim’s roots (our lead role). Mirage is causing a stir in the gaming world, partially because of its convenient small scale and play style that echoes past characters Altaïr and Ezio. It’s smaller, streamlined approach is a major win for a lot of gamers.
Assassin Creed’s Mirage Gameplay
The gameplay of Mirage is a combination of stealth and exploration. Players can use the main character Basm’s skill to sneak around enemies and complete missions. Mirage marks a return to the series’ roots, with Ubisoft scaling back the massive realms of the open worlds seen in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla and Assassin’s Creed Odyssey to give us a smaller and more intimate world to explore. There’s a renewed interest in social stealth, parkour and acrobatic killing. Basim is onto using his stealth to complete quests rather than combat skills.

What’s New in Assassin’s Creed Mirage’s Gameplay?
-
Parkour
Parkour is intended as a new skill for the characters. The rooftop is your playground and you can jump your way all through Baghdad. If you fall, you get up and jump again. Quest director Simon Arseneault implied that if you know enough, you can roam all through Baghdad without ever stepping foot on the ground.
-
Customizable Outfits
Outfits can be dyed and customized to your liking and upgraded for perks. The outfits have also been upgraded to go well with the stealth techniques. They now produce 50% less noise. Even the accessories like daggers can be upgraded to lessen the damage received.
-
Notoriety
The bounty system from Black Flag and Odyssey is returning in the form of notoriety. The notoriety level increases when you kill in front of a civilian. When you reach the maximum level of your notoriety, a soldier from the Shakiriyyah will come confront Basm to chase him in restricted areas. A civilian can also warn the guards if they witness you removing wanted posters. Apparently, there is a fourth level of notoriety too when someone you know seems to be hunting you.
-
Tokens
Ubisoft has made changes to the in-app purchase system and introduced tokens instead.
-
Power
Power tokens are there to bribe the Munadi, and pay heralds to reduce your notoriety.
-
Merchant
Merchant tokens will give you exclusive goods from certain sellers. This might mean that Assassin’s creed Mirage will take away the shops and encourage purchases from direct sellers..
-
Scholar
Scholar tokens are there for distraction. These tokens can be used to hire distractions for enemies. You can get street entertainers to distract the guards. The difference lies in the currency used. Unlike previous installments, Mirage uses in-game currency for these tokens.
